The Benidorm skyline has been officially redefined this month with the opening of a major new architectural landmark. Port Hotels has launched its ambitious skyscraper project in the Rincón de Loix area, following a comprehensive transformation of the Port Benidorm Hotel and Spa. The project, led by the prominent businessman Toni Mayor, has seen the establishment evolve from its original 19 storeys into a 26-storey tower, standing at over 100 metres tall.
This development adds 122 new rooms to the hotel, bringing the total capacity across the complex to more than 400 rooms. Designed to cater to both leisure and business travellers, the facility now features expanded spaces for events and meetings, as well as a significant focus on high-end gastronomy and wellness. Amongst the new features is “The Iconic by Port Hotels”, an exclusive club located at a height, offering guests premium services and views across the Mediterranean.
Sustainability was a core pillar of the construction, with the building incorporating an innovative double ceramic facade. This technical feature is designed to improve energy efficiency by isolating the interior from both heat and cold, ensuring guest comfort while reducing the environmental footprint. The opening is an important milestone for the city, reinforcing its reputation for hotel innovation and competitiveness within the Mediterranean tourism market.
