One person has died and three others have been injured with varying degrees of severity after the vehicle they were travelling in plunged down a 150-metre drop in the Alicante town of Polop.
According to information provided by the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium, the incident occurred last night at around 9 pm on the CV-70 road, from Confrides to Polop.
A vehicle carrying four people left the road at a bend and fell down a terraced slope with an approximate drop of 150 metres. All of the occupants became trapped inside the car, meaning emergency services had to extricate them from the wreckage.
As a result of the crash, one person lost their life and three other individuals sustained injuries of varying types and levels of severity.
The rescue operation involved a Command Unit, a Heavy Urban Pump, a Light Urban Pump, and a Miscellaneous Rescue Van. The deployed team included a sergeant, a corporal, and eight firefighters from the Benidorm station.
