The local council of Los Montesinos, through its Department of Equality, has announced the date for the town’s 2026 LGTBIQ+ Pride celebration, which will take place on Saturday 4th July. With this announcement, the local authority has begun preparations for an event that is now well established in the municipality, once again blending campaigning, visibility, community spirit and celebration around the core values of equality, respect and diversity.
Although the full programme will be presented at a later date, the council has revealed that some of the most iconic activities from previous years will remain. This includes the traditional protest march through the streets of Los Montesinos, which was held for the first time last year, alongside a night of performances expected to bring residents and visitors together for a day of celebration and advocacy for LGTBIQ+ rights.
The official poster and the full programme of events, detailing the participating artists and shows for this year’s edition, will be released by the local council in the coming weeks.
Nathalie Dubi, the Councillor for Equality, noted that Pride in Los Montesinos has become an essential date on the annual calendar and a benchmark for coexistence, respect and diversity. She stated that every year sees growing participation from people making the event their own, helping to foster an environment of freedom, inclusion and celebration.
The councillor highlighted that previous editions achieved excellent participation and organization, showing that Pride is fully consolidated in the municipality and holds the backing of a community committed to the values of equality and respect for everyone. She added that Los Montesinos is an open, inclusive and respectful town where diversity is viewed as a source of richness, and where work continues to ensure everyone can live freely, without fear, and with identical rights and opportunities.
Furthermore, Dubi emphasised that Pride remains a necessary date, serving as a time to celebrate what has been achieved through the effort and struggle of many individuals, whilst also demanding progress on rights, freedoms and true equality for LGTBIQ+ people that have yet to be won. She concluded that Los Montesinos will once again raise its voice to support a fairer, more diverse and inclusive society for all.
Through these actions, Los Montesinos Council reaffirms its institutional commitment to equality, diversity and the fight against all forms of discrimination. The local authority considers it essential to keep driving initiatives that help bring visibility to the reality of the LGTBIQ+ community, promote respect and move towards an increasingly just, inclusive and free society.
