A shocking discovery has been made in the historic centre of Denia, where the body of a man who allegedly died thirty years ago was recovered from inside a house on Wednesday, 3rd June. The property is located on Calle Hospital within the historic Les Roques neighbourhood. According to the investigation, an elderly person confessed on his deathbed that he had killed his son and subsequently buried him inside the property three decades ago. The family no longer lived at the two-storey house, which is currently occupied by other residents. The body was discovered on the ground floor.
Sources added that members of the same family unit commissioned the excavation inside the house following the confession of the father, who died very shortly afterwards. For practically the entire week, members of the family, who are of Roma ethnicity, have been present inside or around the immediate vicinity of the property. Once the corpse was finally located on Wednesday, the relatives immediately notified the National Police. The victim had been registered as missing during all this time.
Although Calle Hospital is situated in one of the highest parts of Les Roques, it sits above the tiers of the Plaza del Consell and is only a few metres away from the town hall, meaning it is just a short step from the absolute centre of Denia.
