Health centres across the Valencian Community are preparing for the rollout of a new digital scribe system. This artificial intelligence technology is designed to automatically transcribe consultations between medical professionals and patients, significantly speeding up patient care and easing the administrative burden on primary care workers.
The implementation of the digital scribe forms part of a broader technological and structural upgrade across regional health services. Alongside this transcription system, the regional health department plans to introduce a virtual assistant to handle telephone calls and streamline medical appointment requests. These digital updates are backed by an increased regional healthcare budget, which reaches 9,453 million euro for the upcoming period, representing a rise of nearly 3 per cent.
Primary care infrastructure is also set to benefit, with 89 million euro allocated to build new facilities, expand existing health centres, and initiate planning applications. Key projects in the province include developments at several health centres, such as Valencia-Antonio Suárez, Valencia Benimámet, Valencia-Penya-roja, Rafelbunyol, Godella, Puerto de Sagunto II, Requena, Xàtiva-La Murta, La Pobla de Vallbona, and the CSI Alaquàs. Mental health policies will also see an increase in funding, receiving 219 million euro to set up specialised units and support regional health plans.
