The National Police have arrested a man and a woman, aged 20 and 30, in Alcoy for their suspected involvement in drug trafficking and assaulting a police officer. Police caught the pair during an alleged narcotics transaction.
The intervention occurred when a citizen security patrol, conducting prevention work, observed the two suspects engaging in conversation with a third person and handing over a package in exchange for money. Faced with this situation, the officers ordered them to stop and proceeded to identify everyone involved.
During the police action, officers located a wide variety of narcotic substances hidden in the couple’s clothing, along with around 200 euro in split banknotes. This discovery led to the arrest of both individuals for their suspected involvement in a crime against public health.
According to police information, at the moment of their arrest, the couple attempted to flee the scene and used violence against the officers. The patrol had to request backup from other units to secure the arrest.
Among the seized substances were doses prepared for sale, including cocaine, tusi, speed, MDMA, ecstasy and marijuana. Following the completion of police proceedings, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the duties of the investigative courts of Alcoy.
