The Prevention and Citizen Security Unit (UPSC) of the Denia Local Police carried out a special operation on Friday night, 19th June, focusing on prevention, traffic control, citizen security and nightlife. The operation concluded with a total of 14 infractions detected on public roads and an official report issued against a local establishment in the municipality.
As part of the actions related to security and citizen coexistence, officers intervened in several unusual incidents. This included detecting an infraction for carrying a prohibited weapon and issuing two penalties for disturbing the peace of residents through the unauthorised use of rockets or pyrotechnic devices. Furthermore, the operation included an inspection of a nightlife venue, where police officers drew up a report following the seizure of narcotic substances from customers inside the establishment.
In terms of traffic control and road safety, a total of 34 vehicles were checked during the night. These inspections resulted in three infractions for positive alcohol tests, the immobilisation of four vehicles, and four additional complaints relating to vehicle documentation and administrative conditions. A penalty was also issued to a driver for travelling the wrong way down the street.
The police report from the UPSC detailed further complaints dealt with during the night for antisocial behaviour in the street. These included three infractions for the possession or consumption of narcotic substances on public roads, three complaints for drinking alcohol in the street, and two further penalties for individuals urinating in public.
