A man has been arrested by local police in Orihuela following a high-speed car chase, a violent escape attempt, and a positive drug test.
Officers initially intercepted the vehicle after receiving a tip-off from a member of the public. When stopped, the driver attempted to deceive the police by identifying himself using another person’s identification card.
A subsequent drug test revealed that the driver was under the influence of cocaine. Upon further investigation into his true identity, officers discovered that the man had numerous outstanding arrest warrants issued against him by various courts across the country. He was also driving without a valid driver’s licence.
The situation escalated when the suspect resisted arrest and became extremely violent, causing significant damage to the police vehicle. While being transported to a medical centre, the man managed to break the window and door frame of the moving patrol car. He then jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
Following an intense chase through a nearby housing development, officers successfully caught, subdued, and secured the suspect. Several police officers sustained injuries during the operation. The man has now been brought before a judge.
