A minor earthquake struck the municipality of San Miguel de Salinas yesterday evening, Sunday 28th June.
The tremor, which measured 1.6 on the magnitude scale, occurred at 21:37 local time. According to geographical tracking data, the minor seismic event was located northwest of San Miguel de Salinas and was recorded at a depth of nine kilometres.
Due to its low magnitude, a tremor of 1.6 is typically considered a micro-earthquake and is rarely felt by residents on the surface. No damage or injuries have been reported in the municipality as a result of the activity.
