A bidding war has emerged for a major infrastructure project at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, with two prominent construction companies going head-to-head for a contract valued at more than five million euro. The competition for the contract to develop office spaces at the airport terminal has effectively become a direct duel between Acciona and Vilor.
Both construction firms, which have previously been awarded other contracts for various works at the aerodrome, have submitted bids to secure this latest project. The two companies are the only ones to have registered formal proposals before the official bidding deadline closed. The public tender was launched with a base budget of more than 5.3 million euro, which includes all relevant taxes.
The final decision will come down to a close evaluation of the two submissions, as both companies have presented highly competitive financial offers that are closely aligned with the initial tender budget. According to the preliminary details of the bidding process, the most economical alternative, which represents the most financially advantageous option for the public interest, has been submitted by Acciona.
