The National Police have arrested two men, aged 23 and 37, who work at a nightclub in the centre of Alicante as the alleged perpetrators of two sexual assaults, one of them involving penetration, reported by a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman.
The reported events being investigated by the Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police allegedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. on 27th June in a nightclub in the Rambla de Méndez Núñez area of Alicante.
According to the information provided in their respective complaints by the victims, who are friends, they entered the nightclub after receiving an invitation from a public relations representative, and once inside, they started a conversation with two employees of the establishment.
The conversation continued over drinks provided by the employees, and eventually one of them, the 23-year-old man arrested, went to the restroom with the minor. Once in the bathroom, they began a consensual encounter, but when she asked him to stop, saying she would rather not continue and wanted to leave, the now-arrested man ignored her and allegedly sexually assaulted her with penetration, according to the complainant.
The other friend also reported to the National Police that she was a victim of lewd touching by the other detained employee.
The minor who reported sexual assault with penetration went to a health centre to be examined before formally filing the complaint with the National Police the following day.
The National Police are trying to clarify whether the reported events were recorded with a mobile phone inside the nightclub.
The arrests were made on Tuesday 7th July, by UDEV agents, and the two employees of the nightclub were brought before the duty judge in Alicante the next day.
