The Guardia Civil has arrested a 21-year-old man in Torrevieja as the suspected perpetrator of five robberies with force in residential properties situated on the outskirts of the municipality. The suspect has been remanded in prison following his appearance in court.
The investigation began after officers noticed an increase in these types of offences across various residential developments in Torrevieja. A pattern in the suspect’s modus operandi was subsequently established by investigators.
According to police enquiries, the young man took advantage of temporary absences by property owners to gain entry to the homes. During one of the break-ins, he managed to enter the property while the occupants were still inside.
Following identification, officers searched the suspect’s residence, where they recovered stolen items, tools allegedly used during the break-ins, and clothing worn to disguise his identity. He was brought before the Court of First Instance in Torrevieja, which ordered his immediate remand in custody.
