Salvamento Marítimo rescued six people on Saturday, 25th July, who were aboard a motorboat that was sinking due to taking on water in the vicinity of Cala del Portitxol in Javea. The València centre coordinated the operation and immediately dispatched its resources.
Upon receiving notice of the emergency, the Salvamar Fénix vessel was deployed to head directly to the location of the incident. However, the primary rescue effort was carried out by another boat that was already present in the area.
The crew of the vessel Borso IV contacted Salvamento Marítimo to report that they had managed to rescue all six individuals safely from the sinking motorboat. Thanks to their prompt action, the crew brought everyone on board to safety without further harm.
The successful rescue highlights the vital importance of maritime safety and coordination between private vessels and emergency services in coastal waters.
