Officers from the Alicante Local Police have arrested a Moroccan man in his sixties on Friday, 24th July, following allegations of indecent exposure on Postiguet beach. Witnesses reported that the man deliberately exposed his genitals to bathers, including several young children, as people gathered along the shoreline at the start of the weekend.
The police operation was triggered when a member of the public contacted the communications centre. A patrol from the beach surveillance unit responded to the call and located the suspect with the help of the informant. While keeping the man under control, officers interviewed several witnesses on the scene.
According to municipal security sources, witness statements provided a consistent account of the event. Bystanders confirmed that the individual intentionally exposed himself and displayed his genitals while moving towards an area where families with children were gathered. Witnesses ruled out any accidental exposure, describing his actions as deliberate and repeated in a busy section of Alicante’s main city beach.
Among the witnesses was the father of several children who saw the incident. He confirmed his intention to file a formal complaint and provided his details to police. The local police then arrested the suspect for an alleged offence of indecent exposure. Officers stated that the man offered no resistance, did not attempt to flee, and remained cooperative. Following a search, which revealed no items relevant to the case, he was taken for medical attention before proceeding to the police station.
This arrest follows a series of recent police actions concerning sexual misconduct in Alicante. Just days earlier, three other men were detained on the same beach following reports of sexual assault. Additionally, officers from the citizen security unit recently arrested a Belarusian national in the La Florida neighbourhood after a woman reported that someone had touched her inappropriately.
