A married couple in Agost has been arrested by the Guardia Civil for allegedly operating a retail drug distribution point from their family home, where officers seized narcotics, cash, fake money and paraphernalia related to illegal trafficking.
The operation, codenamed ‘Gebano’, was launched following an investigation started in June. Officers discovered that the couple was allegedly engaged in continuous small-scale drug dealing directly from their residence.
During the search of the property, Guardia Civil officers seized 65 grams of cocaine, 350 grams of hashish and 350 grams of marijuana. Investigators also located almost 14,000 euro in cash, precision scales and a machete, items directly linked to illegal drug distribution.
Additionally, officers discovered several fake banknotes during the raid. As a result, the couple faces charges of currency counterfeiting, alongside drug trafficking and money laundering. Following their arrest, the pair were handed over to the court in Novelda, which ordered their release with charges pending further judicial proceedings.
