Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja finished top of the overall medal table at the fifth edition of the Spanish Beach Sprint Rowing Championship, held at Playa de los Náufragos in Torrevieja.
The national competition brought together approximately 200 crews and 235 athletes representing 21 clubs from eight autonomous communities. Jointly organised by the Spanish Rowing Federation and the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community, the tournament concluded following final races across 19 categories covering cadet, youth, senior, paralympic and veteran divisions.
The host club dominated the overall standings, claiming four gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals. Real Club Regatas de Alicante finished as runners-up with two gold medals, four silver medals and five bronze medals. Club Náutico Santa Pola completed the club podium in third place after securing two gold medals and one bronze medal.
Real Club Náutico de Calpe also delivered a strong performance, claiming one gold and three silver medals, which increased to two golds when including veteran categories, thereby winning the Iberdrola Trophy awarded to the top women’s club. Fifth place went to Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga with one gold, two silver and five bronze medals, while Club Remo de Mar La Línea and Club de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello shared sixth position with one gold and one silver medal each.
Beach sprint rowing continues to grow in prominence as a dynamic coastal discipline, which will officially make its debut on the Olympic programme at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
