Pld Space has entered a crucial new phase of preparation for its Miura 5 orbital launcher, initiating system-level testing with three vehicles already manufactured in Elche. The milestone marks a significant step forward as the aerospace company builds up its industrial and operational capabilities ahead of its planned debut.
The company’s progress includes the integration of the second stage of the launcher, which has been installed vertically at its testing facilities in Teruel. This phase involves comprehensive testing encompassing propellant loading and a static fire test. The firm aims to carry out the initial test flight during the first half of 2027.
Alongside vehicle assembly, Pld Space has advanced its manufacturing output, producing seven complete engines and 13 full tanks for qualification and flight models. Furthermore, the business is backed by a Serie C funding round of 288 million euro, reinforcing its long-term industrialisation, testing infrastructure, and launch site preparations.
