Benidorm Town Hall has approved the procurement file for technical assistance to draft the basic and execution projects for the second phase of reurbanisation and infrastructure remodelling along Avenida del Mediterráneo and its surrounding area.
The contract, valued at nearly 400,000 euro, will pave the way for modernising one of the main arteries in Benidorm. Announced yesterday, Monday 17th August, by Mayor Toni Pérez following approval from the Local Government Board, the project covers the section between Avenida de Europa and Avenida de Castellón. It also includes adjacent avenues running towards Avenida de Madrid on the Levante Promenade, specifically Avenida de Murcia, Avenida de Cuenca, Avenida de Mallorca, Avenida de Filipinas, and Avenida de Almería. In total, the planned redevelopment spans an area of approximately 37,930 square metres.

Mayor Pérez stated that the local government is continuing to deliver on its commitments, noting that intense work has taken place to advance this second phase within all legal timeframes required for a project of this scale. The overall execution of the works is expected to carry a budget of nearly 19 million euro. In addition to drafting the reurbanisation design, the tender includes technical and financial feasibility studies for a potential public underground car park beneath the avenue.
