Pedestrian dies after being struck by a van

A 29-year-old man has lost his life in the early hours of this morning following a road traffic accident on the CV-91 road, close to the district of San Bartolomé and near the Vega Baja Hospital in Orihuela.

The incident occurred at approximately six o’clock this morning, Thursday 20th August and involved a van and a pedestrian.

It is believed that the victim was struck while walking along the carriageway, dying at the scene of the crash. The 54-year-old driver of the vehicle was uninjured. The full circumstances surrounding the collision are currently under investigation.
