The Guardia Civil is investigating the discovery of the bodies of an Irish married couple, aged 50 and 45, in the Valencian town of Cullera. Their remains were found on Tuesday afternoon by their two minor children, according to sources from the force.
The Homicides Judicial Police team of the Guardia Civil has taken charge of the investigation. Although the cause of death is initially unknown, officers noted that there is some indication that something unusual may have occurred.
The bodies of the husband and wife were discovered by their children inside the jacuzzi of a home located in a residential estate in the coastal municipality.
According to reports, the bodies were undressed and showed injuries that appeared to be puncture wounds, although accidental deaths have not been ruled out. The social services department of Cullera Town Hall has taken responsibility for the minor children, who have special needs.
