The University Hospital of Torrevieja has reinforced the equipment of its Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine services with the incorporation of ten new respiratory support devices, an action that has involved an investment of 212,475.54 euro by the Health Department. The devices have already been received and are available for use with patients.
The investment is divided between eight non-invasive ventilation devices intended for the Emergency Department and two high-performance invasive ventilators for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The objective is to expand the available resources to attend to both emergency situations and critical patients who require respiratory assistance.
Specifically, the two new ICU ventilators have a tender amount of 94,379.54 euro. These devices are designed to provide advanced ventilatory support to critical patients and increase the technological capability of the unit.
The majority of the new devices are being incorporated into the Emergency Department. The hospital has acquired eight non-invasive ventilation units, with a tender amount of 118,096 euro.
These devices make it possible to provide respiratory support to patients with breathing difficulties who, due to their clinical condition, can benefit from an alternative to invasive ventilation.
With this acquisition, the Torrevieja Health Department expands the technical means available for the care of patients with complex respiratory needs, both in Emergency and Intensive Care. According to the health authorities, the renewal also aims to provide professionals with technology adapted to the healthcare needs of patients.
