Three men, aged 30, 40, and 45, have been arrested by the National Police as part of an investigation into a suspected femicide committed with a knife in Benidorm. Among those arrested is the alleged perpetrator, who was the victim’s partner, while the other two have been detained as accessories after the fact.
The arrests followed the discovery of a woman’s body in a rural area situated between Benidorm and Finestrat, according to police sources. Authorities also confirmed that there was no prior record of domestic violence between the victim and the primary suspect.
The events began to unfold when two men visited the National Police station in Benidorm to inform officers that an acquaintance had confessed to killing his partner with a knife during an argument. According to their statement, after learning what had transpired, they went to the suspect’s residence, where they confirmed the situation.
The two men explained to officers that, following alleged threats made by the suspect, they assisted in various ways to move the victim’s body from the home to a rural location between Benidorm and Finestrat.
In response, the National Police swiftly deployed various public safety units and activated the established protocol for violent crimes. Agents from the Judicial Police and Scientific Police also joined the operation to conduct investigations and gather evidence.
Upon arriving at the designated location, officers discovered the body of a woman, approximately 33 years old and of Brazilian origin. While official confirmation of her identity is pending, preliminary investigations indicate she was the romantic partner of the main suspect.
After locating the body, officers established a security perimeter around the primary suspect’s home to secure his arrest. The man was detained shortly afterwards for his alleged involvement in a homicide.
Following the initial arrest, officers also detained the other two individuals for their alleged participation in a cover-up. Investigators determined that one provided his vehicle to transport the body, while the other directly assisted in moving it.
The National Police are continuing their investigation in Benidorm and Finestrat to fully clarify the circumstances of the death and establish the specific responsibilities of each person involved. Pending actions include the official identification of the victim by authorities. Agents continue to gather evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events from the woman’s death to the transfer of her body.
The three detainees will be brought before the duty magistrates in Benidorm in the coming hours to answer for their alleged involvement in the events.
