Four people have been arrested in Alicante by the National Police following a firearm attack directed at a man and his vehicle. The investigation began after a man reported that he was sitting in a local bar drinking coffee when another individual opened fire on him. Although the bullets missed the victim, they struck and damaged his van.
During the incident, the main suspect allegedly shouted abuse expressing hatred towards the victim. Following enquiries, authorities identified the primary suspect and requested judicial permission to search three residential properties linked to him in Alicante. These searches resulted in three initial arrests.
Investigators subsequently tracked down a vehicle whose occupants were reported to be carrying firearms. Officers intercepted the car at a petrol station after the occupants attempted to flee. Inside, police recovered a firearm, magazines, and ammunition, leading to a fourth arrest for illegal possession of weapons.
During the broader operation, officers also seized approximately 3.700 grammes of marijuana, 30 grammes of hashish, precision scales, body armour, a machete, and 300€ in fragmented banknotes. The four arrested individuals—three men and a woman aged between 19 and 44—have been placed at the disposal of the duty courts in Alicante.
