Two local police officers in Calpe have successfully reanimated a ten-month-old baby who was found unconscious and without breathing on Calle Llibertat, according to municipal sources.
The incident unfolded after emergency services received an alert regarding a potential respiratory arrest involving an infant. The local police officers arrived at the scene in approximately three minutes. Upon finding the infant unconscious and showing no apparent signs of breathing, the officers immediately commenced resuscitation and airway clearance procedures.
Thanks to these prompt actions, the baby began to recover her breathing at the location. A second police unit arrived shortly afterwards to provide support and assistance. Given the urgency of the situation, the first responding officers transported the child in their police vehicle to the Calpe health centre to ensure she received medical attention as quickly as possible.
The infant arrived conscious and received care from medical staff at the facility. At 11:22, she was transferred by a basic life support ambulance to the hospital in Denia for a more comprehensive medical evaluation and relevant tests.
Once the intervention was finalised, the officers contacted the mother of the infant to check on her progress. The family confirmed that the little girl was well and had already returned home.
