The special security operation deployed by the National Police in Alicante for the Halloween celebrations and the All Saints holiday concluded with a total of thirteen arrests across the city.
During the night, officers controlled and identified more than 378 individuals and checked 71 vehicles. Police also issued 71 formal sanctions for the possession or consumption of illegal drugs and a further nine penalties for carrying dangerous bladed weapons in public spaces.
The thirteen arrests were carried out for a variety of offences, including burglary, domestic abuse, drug trafficking, document fraud, and resisting police officers. Additional detentions were made for immigration law violations and outstanding judicial warrants.
The reinforced security plan focused heavily on areas experiencing the highest density of public gatherings during the festivities. Key locations monitored included Postiguet beach, El Barrio, the Explanada de España, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, and several other central streets in Alicante.
Units involved in the deployment included citizen attention patrols, operational response groups, and Prevention and Reaction Units specialised in maintaining public order and crowd management. Furthermore, transport security brigades were deployed around railway and transport stations to curb both common and specialised delinquency.
