NINE PEOPLE KILLED ON SPANISH ROADS THIS WEEKEND

Nine people have been killed in six fatal accidents on Spanish roads during the course of this weekend, between 15:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Sunday, according to the DGT traffic department.

Saturday was the worst day of the weekend when y, when six people were killed in three fatal accidents, which also left four people injured. The most serious occurred in Nules in Castellón, where three people were killed and many others injured in a multiple collision involving three trucks and a van on the N-340.

On Sunday, two people were killed in two separate fatal accidents, including a crash on the A-7 motorway in the province of Alicante, when one person was killed after the car he was driving left the road at kilometre 427, between the towns of Xativa and Alcoy.

Friday saw just one fatality, which occurred in the town of Loja, in the province of Granada, although the Guardia Civil were kept busy in the evening when 25 vehicles and their occupants had to be rescued after becoming trapped in snow.
