“Libro de actas capitulares del Consell 1353-1357” – Biblioteca Pública Municipal María Moliner (Until 30 Apr). This is the oldest book of records preserved in the Municipal Archives.

11:00 – Guided tour of the Palm Tree Gardens and the Horno de Bustamante. Departing from the tourist office along a popular and natural environment, cost 3€.

11:30 – Cultural Walk through the city´s historical quarter, departing from the tourist office, cost 3€.

17,00 h.: PASACALLES por las bandas de música y de cornetas y tambores participantes en la Procesión del Santo Entierro de Cristo.

17,00 h.: RECEPCIÓN del Caballero Cubierto en la Universidad Histórica de Santo Domingo.

19,00 h.: PROCESIÓN del Santo Entierro de Cristo, organizada por el Excelentísimo Ayuntamiento de la Ciudad.  Procession of the Holy Buriel of Christ.

23,00 h.: SOLEMNE VIGILIA PASCUAL Y BENDICIÓN PAPAL, Santa Iglesia Catedral, Real, Insigne y Majestuosa Iglesia Parroquial de Santiago; Iglesia Parroquial de San Vicente Ferrer, Iglesia Parroquial de San Antón.

19:30 – “Hip-Hop Torrevieja”, Virgen del Carmen.

21:00, a classical concert will be given at the Palacio de la Música in Torrevieja, performed by the Classical Trio Triumf, top level soloists coming from Russia and Georgia and playing music by Beethoven, Corelli and Haydn. Tickets will be available before the concert at the Palacio de la Música box office at a price of 8 euros.

POPULAR GREAT DRUM ROLL AT 22:30 H. From the Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen

ITINERARY: Calle del Mar, Gumersindo, Apolo, Pedro Lorca, Joaquín Chapaprieta, Vicente Blasco Ibáñez y Zoa, hasta la plaza de Oriente. Allí se efctuará una parada al finalizar la Solemne Vigilia Pascual y seguirá por las calles Torrevejenses Ausentes, Rambla Juan Mateo, Antonio Machado, Campoamor, Patricio Pérez, Plaza Miguel Hernández, Canónigo Torres y Concepción, hasta la Plaza de la Constitución.

00,30 h.: PROCESIÓN de la Hermandad de la Resurrección.  Procession of the Brotherhood of the Resurrection.

11:00 – Walking tour of the Mirador de San Miguel lookout, departing the tourist office, cost 3€.

12,00 h.: TAMBORADA de júbilo por la resurrección de Jesucristo, desde la Iglesia de las Santas Justa y Rufina a la Santa Iglesia Catedral. Organiza la Hermandad de la Resurrección.

12,45 h.: TRASLADO de la imagen de la Santísima Virgen Dolorosa, desde la Iglesia Parroquial de las Santas Justa y Rufina al Monasterio de San Juan de la Penitencia.

EASTER SUNDAY April 20th

PROCESIÓN DEL ENCUENTRO AT 08:00 H. from Inmaculada Concepción Church with the following floats: “SAN JUAN EVANGELISTA”, “LA INMACULADA CONCEPCIÓN” and  “EL SANTÍSIMO SACRAMENTO BAJO PALIO”.

ITINERARY: From the Inmaculada Concepción Church the floats “SAN JUAN EVANGELISTA” and “LA INMACULADA CONCEPCIÓN” will be carried along Caballero de Rodas, Azorín, Fotógrafos Darbladeto Concepción street crossroad.

ITINERARY: From the Inmaculada Concepción Church the float “SANTÍSIMO SACRAMENTO BAJO PALIO” will be carried  along Caballero de Rodas, Clemente Gosálvez and Fotógrafos Darbladeto Concepción street crossroad, where the floats will meet. This is known as “EL ENCUENTRO”.

After “El ENCUENTRO” all the floats will be carried back to the Inmaculada Concepción Church from the Concepción pedestrian street along Ramón Gallud, Bazán, Caballero de Rodas, Plaza de la Constitución.
