GUARDIA OFFICER ARRESTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

A drugs raid carried out by Alicante’s Guardia Civil has led to the arrest of a police officer who was found to be a member of a group of traffickers based in the region. The raid, conducted by officers from the Judicial Police in San Juan, resulted in the detention of half a dozen suspects, including the Guardia agent, who was stationed at the Alicante-Elche airport.

Identified as GOM, and 41 years of age, the officer was arrested last Friday morning at his home, in San Vicente del Raspeig, while other members of the gang were arrested in El Campello. All of those involved have already been processed through the courts, and are currently being held on remand.

Investigations remain ongoing and sub judice and as such there is little information available, particularly in respect of the details regarding the arrested officer and the extent of his involvement with the gang.

It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
