An 82 year old man died in a traffic accident on Monday evening, in the town of Cullera, following a head on collision between two cars travelling along the N332.
His 80 year old wife and a 41 year old man, believed to be the driver of the second car, were both seriously injured.
Three other passengers had to pulled from the wreckage of the second vehicle but are thought only to have superficial injuries.
They were all transferred to the Hospital de La Ribera, however, for observation and treatment.
Following the accident the N332 was closed for about 2 hours. At this stage, the reasons for the collision are not known.
