Two colleagues from Orihuela Hospital, have launched an online running and health website which offers wellbeing tips and advice to enthusiastic athletes.
Federico Gas Huertas, a pediatric nurse and pediatrician Martín Ferrando, say that they have created the website so that anyone who wants to run can find helpful advice and tips on all matters related to the sport without the need to face the same uncertainties that the pair both had in their early careers.
The site can be found at www.berunnermyfriend.com. It has a multitude of tips on how to train and what diet that keen runners should follow
The pair explained that the project began to take root on the social network site Twitter wher they accumulated more than 10,000 followers. “That’s when we decided to take the step and move the project on by creating an online magazine" said Gas. “We want it to be a useful reference for all those who share our hobby, to answer their questions, advise and motivate anyone who chooses to follow the sport lifestyle."
Martin Ferrando said that "running is not only about putting on a pair of trainers, we explain how runners can plan their training, prevent any injuries, and much, much more."
“The website is divided into several sections covering training information, news, motivation, music and health. The reasons why people start in the world of ‘running’ are usually to lose weight, relieve stress, and as a social experience or an act of self-improvement,” Ferrando said.
