This coming weekend, 2 August we have the 18th annual San Juan beach rugby 7’s tournament with teams from all over the region and a lot further afield taking part. The tournament kicks off at 10.00 and lasts well into the early evening.
The teams include Alicante University, Salaos de Huesca, Elche, La Vila, Denia, Albacete, Barbarians Alua, Zaragoza’s Law University, Trapos Viejos RFC, Alicante RFC.
This is followed by the first Murcia beach rugby tournament run by Murcia XV on 9 August.
Then the following weekend the 2nd San Javier beach rugby tournament, on 16 August.
So come along and have some fun in the sun and have a great day of rugby.
I am now at Zoco Market on Sundays third row up from the road at the back of the market, so come on down there for all of your rugby branded clothing and playing gear, and anything you want to know about rugby in the area.
The rugby training for the new season for most clubs is starting at the beginning of September.
So if you are interested, dig out those rugby boots and come along and see for yourself what it is like. New players are always welcome no matter what age or skill level you are.
