The Dani Martin concert held last weekend in Pilar de la Horadada attracted record crowds of over 4000 people.
The film and television star, and former frontman of pop group El Canto del Loco, gave an absolutely rousing performance that had the audience on its feet from the very first minute.
And not all were from the local area as many hardcore fans are understood to have driven from his home city of Madrid camping themselves in the enclosure for up to 24 hours before the concert started so they could get the very best positions.
They joined thousands of locals and tourists who together enjoyed a night of music that also included a surprise performance by the actor, Fernando Tejero, who shared the stage for a few minutes with Dani Martin, as the pair performed a Sabina song.
Pilar’s councillor for festivities said "The show was a major success which allowed thousands of people from the town to celebrate the festivities with many hundreds of others that drove in from elsewhere.
Asunción Sánchez Martínez said that she was especially pleased, he said, because "the concert was conducted without incident thanks to measures that ensured the safety of all participants."
Following Dani Martin’s performance the evening continued with entertainment from the group "Canalla City" which saw revelers dancing until the wee hours.
