‘CAROLS AT CHRISTMAS’ – PRESENTED BY THE UNITED ENGLISH-SPEAKING CHURCHES

On Wednesday 10th Dec, more than 300 people attended this event – held at TCF.

This year saw a completely new format. Actors from a number of different Churches made up the cast of the Nativity story in full costume – with each set of actors entering while appropriate carols were being sung.

Readers from the various Churches reminded us of the story of the First Christmas; and the programme was interspersed with singing items.

Cathy Carson (La Siesta) sang ‘Mary, did you know?’; the trio of Robert, John and Peter (ICA) sang ‘A Starry Night’; and Pastor Roy Davies (TCF) sang ‘This Little Child’.

The Phoenix Concert Band provided the music for the carols; and also played a medley of well-known Christmas songs during the programme.

We are grateful that everyone who took part did so without accepting any fee for their contribution. This meant that the entire collection could be given to this year’s nominated Charity – AFA Torrevieja (Alzheimer’s Association). Dª Matilde Sánchez Cervera received the €1,000 raised on behalf of AFA.
