The Hospital Universitario de Torrevieja will play host to emergency surgeons from across the globe in February, as they hold the fifth edition of a training course in emergency medicine.
Taking place from the 6th of February, the “V Emergency Abdominal Surgery Course”, as it has been titled in English, will bring together medics from the likes of the U.K., Ireland and Portugal, and aims to offer a unique opportunity to “deepen the development and optimization of medical and surgical treatment of urgent conditions, which is essential for reducing mortality and improving the results”, according to the lead general surgeon promoting the event, Doctor Isidro Martínez.
Dealing with various key stages of emergency treatment, the course will offer insights into disease, clinical patterns, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies and results. It is based on the discussion of the decision process and surgical technique, and mixing didactic lectures and interaction with clinical scenarios, all complete with a manual containing the papers.
Registration is free for those registered as working in the fields of emergency medicine, including radiology, gastroenterology, anaesthesia, intensive care and nursing, and can be applied for directly with the hospital or their website, www.torrevieja-salud.com.
