DRUGS FOUND ON SHIP IN PILAR

Officers from the Guardia Civil seized 465 kilos of cocaine found on a boat in Pilar de la Horadada this week.

Officers spotted the boat performing “strange movements” around the harbour of Torre de la Horadada, arousing the suspicions of the officers who then began to monitor it closely.

The officers then boarded the vessel and found 13 packages containing a total of 465 kilograms of cocaine, subsequently arresting the two crew members, a Spanish man in his 70´s and his son in his 40´s.

The detainees and the drugs were delivered to the courts in Orihuela.

The much awaited La Siesta park in Torrevieja opened on Saturday, with many people attending the event to check out some of the leisure and pleasure facilities now available in this popular area of Torrevieja. It's been a long time coming, but the La Siesta Skate Park is due to open this week with the inauguration set for Saturday 16 March at 11:00 a.m. The park contains many different facilities for different sports modalities, and there's seating around the entire area.
