The submission of plans to widen the N-332 main road as it passes Torrevieja has been confirmed by the Spanish government in a meeting with the regional deputies, thus taking the plans a step closer to reality.
The confirmation came this week following a question raised by a member of the Compromis political group to the Minister of Development Iñigo de la Serna, who officially announced the start of the drafting of the project of the duplication of the N-332 as it passes through Torrevieja.
At the same time, the minister confirmed the widening of the access road to Alicante-Elche airport, and other projects through the Alicante province.
Despite many failings for over a decade, and although it will still take some time to be completed, every process stage takes Torrevieja a step further to being relieved of the usual traffic chaos at peak times when the road network is incapable of dealing with the volume of traffic that passes through.
