On Sunday 8 September, La Mata will be host to a paella competition. Taking place in the main square, just opposite the church, contestants will prepare this traditional peasant dish, with the hope of being crowned champion cook of the rice-based dish.
There will be prizes awarded for the best in each of the competition categories, with the contest set to be a fierce food fight for the right to be rice champ.
As well as the3 competition, which starts from 9 in the morning, there will also be bouncy castles, Zumba, and salsa classes (the dance, not sauce).
A fantastic, fun-filled, food-packed day waits, at the La Mata fiesta.
