Torrevieja’s Department of Education has announced a new summer initiative aimed at introducing local children to the world of digital technology. The free camp, open to children aged 9 to 13, will run from 21 to 25 July and is designed to blend learning with fun through hands-on activities in coding, robotics and digital literacy.
The sessions will be held in a dedicated learning space within the city, with a focus on interactive, game-based learning to keep young participants engaged. Activities will include basic programming, building and operating small robots, and educational games that promote safe and responsible use of technology. Children will also learn key concepts around online safety, digital ethics and the responsible use of social media.
Places on the course are limited, and families are encouraged to register early to secure a spot. The initiative is free of charge for all participants and forms part of the local council’s broader strategy to improve digital competence and technological inclusion among the younger generation.
Organisers emphasise that no prior experience in technology is needed—just curiosity and enthusiasm. The camp is intended to offer a positive and enriching experience during the school holiday period, helping children to build valuable skills while having fun with their peers.
