The National Lottery has brought a significant stroke of luck to the town of Rojales. The draw held on Saturday, 9th May 2026, has distributed 600,000 euro to the winning number, 21,254, which was sold at a local lottery administration in the municipality.
Specifically, the winning ticket was consigned at Administration Number 2, located at 16 Calle Valentín Fuster in the Alicante town. This administration sold the top prize-winning number, marking one of the most important wins in the National Lottery’s ordinary draw. The number 21,254 has been the highlight of the day, making Rojales one of the luckiest spots in the country.
The prize is valued at 600,000 euro for the full number, which translates to 60,000 euro for each ten-euro “décimo” ticket. The news has sparked great excitement among residents and regulars of the lottery office, who are celebrating this latest windfall for the municipality.
According to information provided by Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, the first prize for the Saturday draw was widely distributed and sold in several other Spanish locations. However, within the Valencian Community, the focus is firmly on Rojales, where a winning ticket has the potential to change the lives of its owners.
The second prize in the draw went to the number 56,079, which carried a prize of 120,000 euro per full number. Additionally, the refunds for this draw were awarded to tickets ending in the digits 4, 2 and 9.
The National Lottery remains one of the most popular and historic draws in Spain. Held weekly, it distributes millions of euro in prizes to thousands of players across the nation. Each full ticket is divided into “décimos,” which are the individual participations typically purchased by players at physical administrations or through official channels.
The draw process is straightforward, with numbers drawn from drums and each associated with a specific prize. Ordinary draws generally take place on Thursdays and Saturdays, though special draws with higher prizes occur on significant dates such as Christmas, the “El Niño” New Year draw, or summer holidays.
One of the main draws of the National Lottery is the variety of ways to win. Beyond the first and second prizes, there are rewards for approximate numbers, hundreds, specific endings and refunds, meaning the odds of winning something are often higher than in more complex lottery games.
In the case of the first prize, each winning décimo receives a substantial sum that can reach tens of thousands of euro. When a winning number is sold in a single administration and shared amongst neighbours or regular customers, the economic and social impact on the local area is usually very significant.
