The Local Police in Javea have reported the driver of a car for alleged reckless driving after being caught travelling along a road in the municipality with a person on top of the vehicle’s roof. Officers highlighted that this behaviour poses a serious danger to both the occupant and other road users.
According to details shared by the Local Police on social media, the driver was reported for a breach considered very serious under traffic regulations, putting road safety at risk through a manoeuvre that could have resulted in severe consequences.
The Local Police emphasised that travelling on the outside of a moving vehicle compromises physical safety and increases the risk of causing an accident that could impact other motorists, motorcyclists, or pedestrians.
Officers reminded the public that roads are not the place for reckless actions, stressing the importance of adhering to traffic rules to protect everyone. As a result of the incident, the driver faces a financial penalty and the loss of six points from their driving licence.
