Firefighters from the Provincial Consortium put out a fire that started on Sunday, February 22nd, in an empty property at 27 Calle Maestro Marqués in the centre of Pilar de la Horadada. No one was inside when the Torrevieja firefighters got there. But sources from the Consortium and the Pilar de la Horadada Local Police said there was a lot of smoke and fire.
Houses next to each other
Along with putting out the fire, work was done to keep it from spreading to nearby residences. Once the fire was out, mechanical ventilation was employed to get rid of the smoke. The fire and smoke entirely destroyed the two-story residence.
The Local Police and firefighters got the alert call through 112. Seven firefighters from the Torrevieja station responded to the call for help, and the Pilar Local Police helped them seal the road and set up a security perimeter.
Working together
The first people to show up were the local police, who were nearby on patrol. “Everything pointed to it being an empty house, but there were other homes nearby that could have been affected,” said sources from the local police, who worked with the fire department, Civil Protection of Pilar de la Horadada, and the Guardia Civil.
