The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia started the operation “Fauron” to look into a string of property crimes in Torre Pacheco. The operation has led to the identification, location, and arrest of a young man who is thought to have committed a dozen property crimes.
The Guardia Civil has solved ten property crimes thus far, including robbery with force inside vehicles and stores, theft, and fraud through the use of stolen bank cards. The operation is still open.
The operation started in November when officers from the Guardia Civil ‘s Citizen Security Prevention section saw a big rise in property crimes in Torre Pacheco.
The first steps of the operation were taken in the places where the crimes happened. There were thorough technical and visual inspections and other investigations that helped find out how the crimes were committed and pointed to a young but experienced criminal who, it is said, was responsible for the crimes being investigated.
Most of the targets were cars parked on public streets and shops in the centre of Pacheco. In all cases, there was theft and burglary, always with the goal of stealing cash and items that could be easily sold. The thieves also seized the victims’ bank cards and used them to commit fraud.
The man who is currently in jail took a lot of steps to avoid being caught while doing the crimes since he had a lot of expertise with crime. He tried to hide his identity by covering his face with clothes, among other things. He also spent the night in remote, run-down regions on the outskirts of the city to make it difficult for anyone to find him.
After collecting all the evidence they needed, the Guardia Civil began looking for the culprit, but he had already fled the country. But the investigators kept an eye on the young man and waited for him to come back.
The Guardia Civil confirmed a few days ago that the suspect had returned to the town of Pacheco. This led to the search operation being resumed and stepped up, which led to his arrest as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with force in vehicles and businesses, theft, and fraud through the fraudulent use of a bank card.
