After admitting in court to hitting his spouse with iron bars twice in two weeks, one of which happened in Torrevieja, the Provincial Court of Murcia sentenced him to six months in prison and 31 days of community work.
The plea bargain also includes two restraining orders that say he must keep at least 300 metres away from the victim and pay her €2,000 in damages. The defendant paid this sum before the trial.
The facts show that the first attack happened at Torrevieja (Alicante) in April 2022, when he hit her with an iron rod on different areas of her body, leaving her with injuries that required seven days to recover.
Two weeks later, in a neighbourhood in Cartagena, he hit her all over her body with an iron baton. It took her five days to heal from her injuries.
