As part of an operation against the illegal growing and trafficking of marijuana, the Guardia Civil has arrested two people and is looking into a third for different problems that happened at a cannabis association on the Orihuela Costa. There were differences between what the putative association did and what the law says this type of group should do during the investigation.
The investigations started in February when the ROCA Team of the Torrevieja Company found signs of problems in a cannabis association in Orihuela Costa after making a number of enquiries.

The agents looked into the association’s public records, such as its founding charter, in the first phase. This analysis helped them figure out who the members of the group were and double-check what was going on at the facility.

After these steps were taken, a monitoring operation was set up in collaboration with patrols from the Pilar de la Horadada Main Station. During this operation, police found a number of customers who regularly came to the business and were said to have bought drugs, as well as workers of the business. The officers came to the conclusion that, although though the place seemed like a legitimate association, it was really a place where drugs were sold.
