The first was the This anniversary event, according to the group, aims to highlight the work done since its inception to promote inclusive sports, social action and the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in Elche and in the entire Valencian Community. The association, for example, was recognised in February by the Iberian Sports Association from the Ministry of Equality for its fight against LGBTQ+phobia and for organising its charity gala in support of transgender children, held on December 14th. The event finally had to be held in a private venue, as the organisation denounced at the time a “ideological veto” by the People’s Party (PP) and Vox, who denied them the use of municipal facilities.
Micro Story
Dimove organises sports like beach volleyball, running, skating and futsal all year round and also offers additional possibilities like hiking, yoga, CrossFit and padel. In addition, the group also produces projects such as an LGBTQ+ short story contest, which in its last edition drew entries from all around Spain and even Latin America.
The competition, which is open for entries until April 30th, has a category for stories in Valencian and offers rewards for stories of less than 250 words. The prizes will be €200 for the best story in Spanish and another €200 for the best story in Valencian.
