A fire broke out yesterday Friday, April 17th on the third floor of a six-story apartment complex in the municipality of Torrevieja, and was suppressed by the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium.
Flames struck the balcony and there was a big plume of smoke. The whole building was evacuated, no one was harmed, and “three apartments were totally destroyed.”

The authorities were alerted at 8:04 p.m. Following the alert, a command unit, two heavy urban fire engines, a ladder truck, a van, an officer, a sub-officer, a sergeant and two corporals were despatched to the location. Also the Fire Consortium has mobilised ten firefighters from the fire stations of Torrevieja and Almoradí. At 10:01 p.m. they had the fire out.
Torrevieja firemen spent today checking the building for the reason why the fire started and the safety of the flats.
