Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Consortium attended a fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon, May 2nd, at a scrapyard in Orihuela. The emergency services were alerted to the incident at approximately 4 pm at the facility, which is located on the Orihuela-Almoradí road.
While the fire was described as “initially powerful” within the scrapyard premises, the Provincial Consortium has confirmed that the primary damage is occurring in the external yard area rather than inside the main warehouse building.

A significant response has been coordinated to bring the flames under control. This includes two heavy fire engines, a support truck, and a Command and Headquarters Unit from the Orihuela station. They have been joined by a heavy fire engine from Almoradí and several water tankers dispatched from various other parks across the province.
The fire service has reported that the blaze is now “sectorised,” meaning it has been contained within specific areas to prevent further spread. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. Officials have stated that following the initial containment efforts, the situation is evolving favourably.
