The La Nucia Council has officially handed over the keys to the first three homes for young people, marking the start of a housing scheme that offered 12 properties in 2025. These semi-detached houses are located on Carrer Serra Grossa, within the La Colina urbanisation. The initiative was specifically designed for local residents under the age of 35 who are registered on the municipal census in La Nucia.
Bernabé Cano, the Mayor of La Nucia, presented the keys to the new residents following the formal signing of the title deeds before a notary. This follows the final allocation of the properties, with a fourth home scheduled to be handed over next week.
Mayor Cano stated that the delivery of these first three sets of keys concludes the allocation process for these municipal semi-detached homes, which began last November. He emphasised that the scheme highlights the council’s commitment to supporting the youth and improving access to housing. The Mayor also noted that the remaining nine properties would be allocated in the near future. Furthermore, a project is set to be launched soon for the construction of 200 social housing units, known as VPO, over the next two years.
The three homes delivered are semi-detached properties consisting of two and three bedrooms and two bathrooms. They offer a living space ranging from 90 to 125 square metres and are situated at number 8 Carrer Serra Grossa in the La Colina urbanisation. The residential area features a communal swimming pool and provides views of the bays of Altea, Benidorm and Calpe.
As part of the allocation rules, two of the new residents also opted to purchase an underground parking space within the urbanisation. The La Nucia Council remains focused on its plan to provide 200 social housing units over the coming two years to further assist local residents and young people in finding a home.
