Emergency crews from the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium have officially extinguished a fire that broke out at a roof tile factory situated between the towns of Novelda and Agost.
The blaze was declared fully extinguished at approximately 8:00 pm on Monday evening, May 11th, following a long operation that saw the fire brought under control at midnight the previous night. Although the main flames were suppressed earlier, five fire crews remained on the scene throughout Monday morning to carry out essential cooling work on the building’s structure, which has been significantly damaged by the heat and flames.
The emergency response began on Sunday, involving a significant deployment of resources. This included two fire crews and an Advanced Command Post from the Alicante Provincial Council Firefighters, alongside two ambulances from GVASESCV on a preventative basis and officers from the Agost Local Police. Fortunately, the fire has now been completely put out, though the structural integrity of the warehouse remains heavily affected.
