The Luxembourg flag carrier Luxair has announced that its new route between Alicante Elche Airport and Luxembourg will operate on a year-round basis. The airline returned to El Altet on 1st April 2026 following an eight-year absence.
Luxair will maintain the same schedule during the 2026-2027 winter season as it does in the summer, with two weekly frequencies operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The route will continue to be served by the new Embraer 195 E2 aircraft, which has a capacity for 136 passengers per journey.
Thanks to this extension, Alicante Elche Airport will feature direct flights to Luxembourg throughout the entire year for the first time in its history. This consolidates a historic connection for the Costa Blanca and strengthens connectivity with the Benelux region, which is one of the areas with the highest presence of residents and tourists in the Alicante province.
